The theme for the 2017 rescue quilt is performance activities.
We are proud to present the 2017 Ridgeback Rescue Quilt. Portland, Oregon — site of the 86th RRCUS National Specialty Show — is the self-proclaimed City of Roses, using them for city landscaping since the 1950s. The overall design is a set of frames floating on a background of roses. For this year's project, 15 quilters contributed from all over North America. Each block focuses on a performance activity with our ridgebacks. From top left to bottom right, the panels are: Conformation, Guardian, Rally, Veteran, Canine Good Citizen (CGC), Companion, Lure Coursing, Puppy, Obedience, Therapy, Nosework, the Ridge, Endurance, and Agility.
The finished size of the quilt is 64 in x 73 in (163 cm x 185 cm). Joan Lipiec designed the layout, made all of the frames, and assembled the blocks. Pat Ottaway made the quilt label. Long arm quilting was supplied by Barbara Logullo of the Electric Needle in Jupiter, Florida.
