Theme

The theme for the 2016 rescue quilt is "Ohio — The Heart of It All"

Style

This year we heartfully present the 2016 Ridgeback Rescue Quilt. For this year's project, quilters were challenged to create blocks that would be representative of the show theme: Ohio, the Heart of It All. Block makers depicted ridgebacks in conjunction with events or ideas associated with Ohio, such as the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame or the first flight of the Wright brothers. The design uses an Irish Chain with hearts at the intersections, framing each of the blocks and illustrating the show theme as well as our love for Ridgebacks.

Joan Lipiec designed the layout, made the heart blocks and assembled the quilt. It was quilted professionally with an overall design by a longarmer. Pat Ottaway made the quilt label.

The quilt has a standard 4 in (10 cm) hanging sleeve and is ready to be displayed.

Raffle

The 2016 quilt was raffled to raise funds for Rhodesian Ridgeback Rescue, Inc. The winning ticket was selected during the 85th RRCUS National Specialty Show in Huron, Ohio, on Saturday, October 15, 2016. Raffle ticket holders needed not be present to win.
