Meet Junior (ID5650)

Junior’s life did not have the ideal start, he lived a life as a stud dog and when he was no longer of use he was rehomed. His new home did a wonderful job with him, but his previous life’s hurdles were a little more than they were able to work through due to the pandemic shut down with the constant hustle and bustle that come with having children around all the time and inability to get out and slowly work on acclimating to the world and people. Since coming into rescue, Junior has made huge strides in all aspects of his life. He is looking for just the right home to continue the wonderful work his foster home has been doing with positive training and give him the forever home he deserves! Like a typical Ridgeback he will work for food! Junior needs a quiet, patient home that can give him clear and consistent direction and boundaries. He would do ok with older calm dog savvy teenagers. No other dogs, and no cats. He bonds quickly to his humans. Junior, like others that have come from the situation, has a fearful temperament. His foster has seen quite an improvement in Junior’s fearfulness since they started working with him. The other rescues all had remarkable improvements as well, with training, confidence building, etc. He needs a secure 6ft wood fence, as he is now very athletic and has scaled a 5ft stone wall. Since coming into rescue Junior has slimmed down 15lb/6.8kg. Junior has not had the best of luck growing up and is now ready for his forever home. Our foster has been working with Junior Since early Jan. Junior has made huge improvements in all aspects of his life. We are looking for someone to continue his positive training and give him his forever home. Bonus, Junior is a typical RR and will work for food. Junior will require a quiet, patient home with older teenage children, no other dogs, no cats and someone who can give him clear direction and boundaries. Junior has a fearful nature. Junior bonds quickly to his pack. Junior is very comfortable with a muzzle for walks or in stressful situations. Junior will need a secure 6ft fence, he is now very athletic and has scaled a 5ft stone fence. Junior has lost 15lb/6.8kg since being with the foster.
