Meet Lozi (ID5920)
Lozi is a 4-yo purebred spayed female Rhodesian Ridgeback who is a compact 62 pounds. She has been in foster care since May while undergoing 2 months of heartworm treatment. Lozi came into rescue with 50 other ridgebacks from a USDA licensed kennel, yet despite her marginal start she is an uncharacteristically happy Ridgeback and her tail is always wagging.
Currently Lozi is being fostered in a household with a female person and a 9-yo male Ridgeback. She has weekend play times with two other Ridgeback buddies (intact male and spayed female) and their people.
Lozi has gotten along well with all dogs and adults she has met; she was hesitant around the few kids she met on a walk; cats and livestock are an unknown. Lozi does have coprophagia behavior which is managed through routine yardtime and picking up right away. She enjoys going along with her person and does well in a car crate. In addition, although being 4-yo, Lozi still has some puppy behaviors that are easily managed. She is a slow leash walker so doesn’t need an active household and overall is a nice combination of high and low energy.
A good home for Lozi would be a family with a strong daily/weekly routine. Some of her puppy behavior (such as chewing and barking when left alone) have been managed with typical puppy strategies. She likely would prefer another resident dog but bonds strongly to people regardless and would be a nice addition to a lucky family.
