Meet Gumbo (ID6186)

Gumbo and his eight siblings were in deplorable conditions for the first nine months of their lives. They lived outside in two 10x10 pens with dirt floors, they never got to run, lie in the sun, just be loved. Since coming into Rescue, they are learning how to be inside dogs and are finally able to be puppies! Because they were denied so much, they are more like 4 month old puppies than 10 months old. And they are on the small side. Gumbo is a cute, ridged, playful, extremely goofy livernose boy! He loves to run with other dogs, and needs to be in a home with another dog who is young enough to play with, and for companionship. He would like an active home where he can experience new things and go new places. He has missed out on so much in his short life! Gumbo is UTD on shots and neutered, HW neg and on preventative, crate trained, working on perfecting house training, working on leash walking, and is learning commands. He is eager to please and VERY food motivated. Gumbo can be shy at first. He does startle easily. He is more comfortable with women but does warm up to men. And then its on! He gives kisses and snuggles. But it needs to be on his terms at first. Gumbo has discovered (and loves) toys and will chase the ball. He is a sweet, happy and an easy going puppy, quiet in the house and will be a joy to his new forever family. DOB 2/7/25. Gumbo is being fostered in the Raleigh NC area.
