Meet Mac (ID6138)
Have you heard the saying ‘Big things come in small packages? That’s exactly what I am!! My name is Mac (I know it sounds like a boys name, but I’m a little girl) and I come in at a feisty 55 lbs. I am small, but mighty!
My original family fell on hard times, so they called some very nice people, who came and picked me up to find me a new home. I have been working on getting my belly full so I can put some weight on (and boy that’s going really well). I was scared at first and clung to the first person that I could that would allow me to land on their lap.
Speaking of laps….do you have one? I need one. I love to lay on laps and put my head directly on your chest. I love me some lovin’! Oh, did I tell you I love playing with my foster mates? I was a little standoffish when we first met, but after a few days….IT IS ON!!! I grew up in a home with another furbaby as well as children, so I’m good with both however, I love to jump A LOT, so small children might not be the best because I might unintentionally knock them down. I do have a decent prey drive, so cats or farm animals are no good.
Did I tell you what I am a pro at?!? COUNTER SURFING!!! I love love love me some counter surfing…I mean…that’s what they are there for, right? My foster mom’s are working with me on that, so we’ll see how it goes. In my first home, I was able to roam free in the house while my family was away, but while in my foster home, I have learned that a crate is good for me (and it comes with treats). So I can go either way, depending on where you want me to be. Also, if you have a warm bed with a warm body in it, I absolutely love curling up in a tiny little ball and sleep the night away. Unless you roll over on me, I won’t move the entire night (I do need a pillow though). I do like to bark on a couple of occasions….1. when I need to go potty and 2. When someone I don’t know comes into my home. I warm up rather quickly if you have treats. I may be loud, but I only want to make sure you know someone is in our home that I don’t know. I’m good on a leash, love trail walks and will check in to make sure I’m going where you want me to go. I’m looking for a home with another playmate about my age (2.5yrs), a warm bed, a bowl that will get filled with food (I need a slow feeder please) and a loving owner that will let me give love the way I want to. I think I will probably need a little bit of training to help with the jumping, but other than that I’m ready to rock and roll. If you think you might be the right fit for me, please submit an application.
Mac is UTD on shots, spayed, microchipped, house and crate trained, HW neg and on preventative, knows some commands, and walks well on lead. Her ideal home would have a fenced yard and another young dog for play and companionship. Mac is being fostered in the Charlotte, NC area. DOB 8/26/22
