Mufasa ... "Mo" for short ... is a big, happy-go-lucky guy. Mo has gone north to his forever home. Mo is now lovingly owned by Joel in North Florida. When Joel picked Mo up from his fosetr home they had a bit of a ride to their destination...Mo rode with his head in Joel's lap for the trip. He has already gone on a few adventures, to the store, meeting the neighbors and meetng the horse next door.
Joel can't believe how well Mo had adapted to his new surroundings in just a few days.. He has already claimed the couch and the bed as his and he is quickly wrapping his new owner around his big paw...which is OK by Joel. This is 1 match that we think we couldn't have done any better this is by far the PERFECT home for Mo.

Brandy came to Rescue as an owner surrender. She is a very sweet girl who loves people and kids. Brandy has finally gone to her forever home. She had a long stay in rescue, she had to be spayed and go through heartworm treatment. But that just gave us the time to find her the perfect home. Brandy now named Kismet was adopted by Steve and Minda. Along with sharing her new home with 2 cats she gets tons of attention from her 3 new 2 legged sisters...Brie, Kassie, and Madeline. Kismet spent Thanksgiving in her new home and had a blast she got to meet her extended family and made her new family proud at how she took everything in stride, being polite and impressing all the guests. She is very much loved in her new home and we couldn't have asked for a better place for her to have gone. Life has finally turned for the better for Kismet.

DESCRIPTION |
Ellington was surrendered to rescue because the young owners simply did not have the time for a puppy. Ellington found new friends and love in his new home. His new owners and their young child are dog lovers, he is replacing a much loved older RR that lived to the amazing age of 18. Ellington's new family had buddies for him to play with - a Jack Russell Terrier and two Beagles. They were romping in the yard the first day he visited his potential home. Ellington will be well loved and cared for, and his new mom has lots of dog experience as a vet tech. He even gets to go to work with her!

Harley was an owner surrender who made it all the way from California to Florida where his owner had to surrender him due to a housing situation. He was fostered for only a short while before he caught the eye of his new family in Geneva, Florida. Harley now has a wonderful new home where he is adored. He has a german shepherd housemate that, after a few days of getting used to each other, they are now buddies. Harley celebrated his 7th birthday only days after moving in with his new family. What a birthday present this mellow fellow got finding this great forever home.

Dahlia was found in a shelter in Florida. She was put into a foster home where it was discovered that this dog is one sweet gal. Dalhlia actually picked her new owners. They went to see her and it was love at first sight. But she needed some minor surgery so she wasn't quite ready to go to her new home. When the family went to leave she all but dragged the foster mom to their car and tried to climb in. Then after they left she was very pouty and sad. After her surgery Dahlia couldn't believe her eyes when "her family" came back to get her. She eagerly jumped into the car with John and Teri and their 2 kids Sarah and John Michael. Dahlia's new home has a comfy couch where she likes to rest and a yard and plenty new doggie things...but best of all it is a home full of of love and attention. She starts obedience classes soon and is looking forward to the holidays in her forever home.

Athena was given up by her original owner when he moved from a house to an apartment. Ridgeback Rescue got her after she was surrendered to another rescue group. Athena got lucky when she found her forever home. Karen had adopted Petey, a ridgeback/pointer mix, from us last year and was looking for a playmate for him. When Athena became available we knew Petey had found his "sister" Karen came down to Florida from Atlanta and picked up Athena. She brought Petey and we had a Petey Reunion Party. The 2 dogs hit it off wondefully. Athena is all settled into her new home, where in addition to Petey she has another dog Betty to play with and a few cats. We couldn't have asked for a better home for little Athena...she sure hit the jackpot becoming a member of Karens pet family.

Jake was given up by his 2 former homes because he was labled uncontrollable. Both families had small children and Jake seemed to have been able to do whatever he pleased. Jake has finally found his forever home. As a young dog he was bounced around to several different homes. He never knew if he was coming or going, and forget manners, no one ever took the time to train him. After a stay in foster care where he learned to be a more polite dog he found a great home. Robert plans to keep Jake very active and continue his training. He has enjoyed visits to the beach already and has a little pug friend that he likes to play with. We're happy Jake has found a home where he can finally get down to business and be a dog....a happy dog!!

Rosie showed up at Ed's office...dirty, flea and tick covered, and starving. Ed took her home and contacted Rescue about the dog he found or should I say found him. Lacking foster homes in his area Ed and Lynn took Rosie into their home and fostered her. She was spayed and underwent heartworm treatment and gained weight.
While in foster care she also managed to wiggle her way into Lynn's and Ed's hearts and at the end of her treatment when it was time for her to move on she did not have to go very far. Ed and Lynn deceided to make her a permanent member of their family and now she even has two other doggie sisters. Rosie LOVES to go fishing and can be seen on Florida waterways with her new owner Ed catching some rays and looking for fish. I hear she is also a football fan. Looks like when Rosie was lost she sure knew how to pick the perfect spot to be found.

Sugar was an owner surrender to Rescue. Sugar FINALLY went to her forever home after almost 3 months in foster care. She and her littermate Spice had to overcome a respiratory infections that could have taken their lives and heartworms. Sugar was adopted by John and Debby from Jacksonville. They changed her name to Nandi Zulu. On Nandi's first night in her new home she got to sleep with her new owners...we have a feeling this is going to be an every night hing now and Nandi will LOVE that She has met her new neighbours and gotten welcome gifts from doggie friends. Nandi has a 17 year old cat and a bearded dragon lizard as her other housemates. We are so thankful this gentle, sweet soul has found her forever home with John and Deb we could not have asked for a better match.

Hunter was purchased by a young single man in the military and he grew up living as a house dog. For 2 years, he lived in a 10x15 foot dirt run with one other dog. The owner moved in with his girlfriend, put his house up for rent, and left the dogs behind. He returned every couple of days to feed and water, and tried to place the dogs thru the paper, and even while running a garage sale. Early in life, Hunter was hit by a car, and had some extensive surgery to repair his left hind leg and hip. Hunter was also overweight due to excessive feeding. Hunter was placed with Dallas and Karen. He was well over 24+ pounds over weight, since his placement he has dropped his excess weight and his mobility has greatly improved.

DESCRIPTION |
Peanut was purchased as a puppy by a couple answering an ad in the newspaper. The owner described him as a nervous puppy, who didn't take to new experiences well. So thinking they were doing what was best for him, they limited his socialization and exposure. They sold their house, moved into an apartment, the husband started to travel a great deal, and the wife went back to school.
