NAME M/F AGE PLACED PICTURE? ID
Nala F 5 mos May 00 YES N/A
See Pictures of Nala Nala was a stray that was lucky enough to make her way to Ridgeback Rescue. She is probably a Ridgeback/golden retreiver mix. She has a beautiful, red, somewhat long coat with a great ridge. Nala was adopted by Lothar and Katherine and their 5 kids. Almost as soon as she was adopted she got to go on vacation up north with her new family and "meet the relatives." Nala had a blast and is totally enjoying having a family of her own. She is one lucky dog to have found her way into this great family.

Dune M 5 mos Jun 00 YES N/A
See Pictures of Dune Dune and his brother Dart made their way into Ridgeback Rescue where they quickly found forever homes. Dune was adopted by Amy and her 8 year old son. It was love at first sight when they met. Dune has already taken a few vacations and trips to the beach and loves all his doggie cousins. He also has a cat in his new home in addition to his human people! Dune is very loved and is now a happy, social puppy. We are happy he has a forever home.

NAME AGE M/F PLACED PICTURE?
Zeke (fka Dart) 5 mos M Jun 00 YES
See Pictures of Zeke Dart who is now named ZEKE came into Ridgeback Rescue in Florida with his brother, Dune. The decision was made rather quickly that he would be making Georgia his forever home. Ben traveled down to Florida and adopted him. When Zeke arrived in his new home he was thrilled to see that he had 2 other Ridgebacks as a big brother and big sister. Kong and Una quickly accepted Zeke into their pack and the 3 became fast friends. They now spend their time playing, lounging around and making Ben laugh. We are glad Ben decided he had room for 1 more Ridgeback and gave Zeke this great forever home.

Sable F 2-1/2 yrs Sep 00 YES ID6
See Pictures of Sable Sable was an owner surrender. Sable was adopted by a wonderful couple and their great r/r Bo. When they first met, Sable did her best to act uninterested. Bo tried to get her to play but she was playing the "look at me I am so sweet and mellow" card...well it worked. Ellie and Andy fell in love with her and she was more than happy to jump in the car with her new big brother and hit the road to South Florida and her new forever home. Sable will play with Bo once she gets settled in and she will love every minute of it. Rescue is thankful Sable found such a great new family.

NAME M/F AGE PLACED PICTURE? ID
Spice F 3 yrs Sep 00 YES ID4
See Pictures of Spice Spice was an owner surrender with her littermate Sugar...she was a mere 48 pounds when Rescue got her and very sick from an upper respiratory infection and kennel cough she must have picked up from a couple days at Animal Control. Spice celebrated her third birthday in Ridgeback Rescue...she was actually spayed and microchipped on her birthday. But even though she was with us she had reason to celebrate. On September 3rd. Spice went onto her forever home. She had been through sooo much while in Rescue..she had to put on 20 pounds, overcome 2 severe respritory infections and go through heartworm treatment. All the while she had 2 very special people pulling for her. Jean Ann and Vanja met Spice when she was very sick and only 48 pounds. They wanted this underdog and waited for her to get well enough to become a member of their family. On her first night "home" she kept getting up throughout the night and alternately licking her 2 new owners. I think she just needed to make sure her Dream was indeed a reality and now this happy healthy dog is in a WONDERFUL forever home.

NAME M/F AGE PLACED PICTURE?
"Stormy" 17 mos M Aug 00 YES
See Pictures of Stormy Stormy was very happy at his past home, but due to unforseen circumstances and financial hardships, his owners no longer had the resources to care for him. Stormy has moved a bit north to his new home. He was originally in Florida but found a wonderful home in Georgia with Evelyn. Stormy now lives in a fairly remote area with alot of space to run, play and explore. He has a new cat housemate that he is trying to get used to and he and Evelyn have become great friends. He has the run of the house and he has already explored the water where he found the fiddler crabs nipping at his toes was not his favorite thing. We are happy Stormy has finally found his forever home.

Simba M 4 yrs Aug 00 YES N/A
See Pictures of Simba Simba came back to rescue after his most recent owners had a job change that just would not allow them to keep Simba in the comfortable home he was used to. He is a big fella 115 pounds and very handsome. Anya just happened to call on the day rescue took Simba in and although she was planning to look at another dog she was intrigued by Simba. She came to see him and it was love at first sight. . Simba spent less than a day in rescue before moving onto his forever home.. He is already sleeping at the foot of his owners bed and checking out training classes where he is sure to become the star pupil. Rescue and Simba thank Anya for coming forward and giving this gentle soul a chance at a great life.

NAME M/F AGE PLACED PICTURE? ID
Elle F 2-1/2 yrs Aug 00 YES ID2
See a Picture of Elle Elle came into Rescue as an owner give up. She had been living outside in a run and not getting the love and attention she craved. Elle has moved on to her forever home. She is now being loved by Mike and Denise and their 2 kids. Her name was changed to Blaze and since Mike is a firefighter it just fit with her rich red color. Blaze is getting used to being spoiled by her new family...she has discovered tennis balls and the kids stuffed toys so she is having a blast. Sitting with the family to watch movies or TV has also become something she enjoys. Thank you Mike and Denise for giving Blaze the home we knew she deserved.

NAME AGE M/F PLACED PICTURE?
"Ricoh" 3 yrs M Aug 00 YES
See Pictures of Ricoh Ricoh was a stray that came to Florida rescue via animal control. He was heartworm positive and while he was undergoing treatment he dreamed of a forever home with a family and perhaps doggie sister to love...Well Ricoh's dreams came true. He was adopted by Kendra and Shane and became the best buddy of their r/r Tara. When Tara and Ricoh met they could not keep their paws off eachother, everyone knew this was just the perfect home for him. He also has a kitty family member that he is intrigued with and learning that she is the one that rules the house not him. Ricoh is loving the fact that he finally has a family to love and that loves him back.

Kappy M 18 mos Jul 00 YES ID12
See Pictures of Kappy Kappy, formerly named Buddy, was a stray that animal control had picked up. He was the cutest little fella with the whitest teeth I ever saw. Kappy was fostered by Rescue volunteer, Linda, and was placed in a home that did not quite work out for Kappy...I think he just knew he wanted to go back to Linda's and that he did..TO STAY... When Linda got him back in foster care she deceided he could just have a forever home with her an her other 2 dogs. Quest, another RR, and Link, a standard Poodle, are his new friends and they don't waste 1 minute not playing with each other. Linda's house is now in constant motion with those 3 dogs running and playing whenever they get a chance. Kappy has found a great forever home.

NAME M/F AGE PLACED PICTURE? ID
Boomer M 18 mos Jun 00 YES ID11
See Pictures of Boomer Boomer is a Ridgeback mix possibly mixed with catahoula or cur dog but he sure is unique looking. He came from animal control and from there was an owner surrender. This 1 and a half year old fella needed a stable home and a place he could call his own. He found that with Tamara and Sam and their children. Boomer also has a doggie playmate named Louie who was a Florida rescue dog a couple years ago. Almost immediatly Boomer proved that there was no fence that could keep him in he was an awesome jumper / escape artist so his new family quickly had an electronic fence put in so he would not escape. He and Louie are both now learning their new boundries and enjoying all the room they now have to run and play. Another one of Boomer's favorite activities is sitting on the couch with Sam enjoying sports on TV. Looks like Boomer has finally found that perfect home.
